JavaScript Comments

1.  Purpose

• Explain Code: Comments help you (and others) understand the purpose and logic behind your code. They make it easier to follow and maintain your code, especially for complex or intricate parts.
• Improve Readability: Well-commented code is significantly more readable and easier to understand, both for yourself and for other developers who might work on your code.
• Debugging: Comments can be used to temporarily disable parts of your code while debugging. This helps you isolate and fix issues.
• Documentation: Comments can be used to generate documentation for your code.

2. Syntax

• Single-line comments:
  • Start with two forward slashes (//)
  • Continue until the end of the line.
• Example:

// This is a single-line comment
let x = 5; // This is another single-line comment

• Multi-line comments:
  • Start with a forward slash and an asterisk (/*)
  • End with an asterisk and a forward slash (*/)
• Example:

/* 
This is a 
multi-line comment. 
*/
